Narration During Books I'd rather Starve than Cook!
The author has organized her recipes in what I think is a very logical way. Crockpot, stove top, oven – these are terms I know and can work with! Chapters entitled Cheap and Easy (story of my cooking life!) and In a Pinch were really needed in my early cooking adventures. The author begins each chapter with some personal insight and I related way too much with her stories. In all seriousness, this book has some really great simple recipes. I plan on getting this for my 82 year old father who is learning to cook and my grown kids who are on their own. The simple step by step easy recipes using realistic ingredients is perfect for any novice or experienced cook. I wish I could have had it 30 years ago. Maybe there would be fewer scars on me and fewer memories of mystery dinners!

When I first got this book I knew that I had met my twin soul sister. This cook book is the best Ive ever read and so hilarious. For people who dont like to cook or just starting out, or want to improve your non-cooking skills, its a must read! The funny stories just make you want to get in the kitchen and try out the recipes. My wife bought the Kindle version of this book, and we've both had a great time, reading and laughing along with Lisa's stories of kitchen foibles. This is a contemporary take on the classic "I Hate to Cook" books by Peg Bracken. It's simple, kitschy fun. I'm making a list of who should get it for Christmas!

I thought this was a fun & witty book that not only entertained, but contained some great recipes for people who hate cooking (like me.)

Lisa Orban was born in Galesburg, IL in 1969. She was moved by her parents (without even asking!) to Quincy as a small child. Bouncing from parent to parent, and house to house until at 16 she was given a broader tour of the state courtesy of foster care. At 18, she voluntarily left for Phoenix with a high school friend where she lived for three years. After returning to Quincy, she went to
Cookbook Frivolity. My wife collects cookbooks. We have hundreds. We decided to add this one to our collection. It is fun and is peppered with easy but useful tips. The author doesn't pretend to be a cooking expert. She is real. Which is a welcoming addition to the world of fancy chefs and culinary experts who line our cookbook collection. I also enjoyed the quotes in the book. One of my favorite lines is this one "And remember cooking isn't a science, it's an adventure where failure is always an
