The Last Mermaid
531 a.d.: The tiny island of Kell is said to be enchanted, inhabited by an extraordinary creature who comforts shipwrecked sailors passing into the next world. Prince Aedan of the Isles believes in no such nonsense until he awakens on Kell itself and meets the sensuous siren who rescued him from the sea.
1721: Ronan MacMhuirich, Earl of Kell, is the target of an unlikely assassin: Leila, a mysterious woman from an exotic land. But his irresistibly beautiful would-be slayer is in just as much danger as Ronan when she falls for this man with a magic of his own.
2004: What do you do when you inherit a Scottish island you never knew existed and find yourself pursued by a handsome stranger who wants to buy it from you? That's what happens to Ruri Kell when she accepts Iain MacInness' invitation to visit her birthright, and listens to a proposition as sinfully tempting as everything else about him.
Three seductive love stories, three passionate couples, all linked by one of the most romantic myths of all.
Very good. Recommend. Will write longer review tomorrow.Alright, I'm ready. This book was recommended to me by Brittany who always has solid books for me to check out. I really enjoyed the short story/novella aspect of this story. You read three different stories about the siren of Kell and I really enjoyed meeting each set of characters. They all felt developed and thought out. I think that we could have had a longer third story, but even so it wasn't terrible. If you like fantasy, and
Lots of florid writing and abuse of adjectives sadly don't make up for lack of research and compelling writing. Classic bodice ripper stuff with mermaids and Scots. Lower the bar... a bit lower... there, that's it... and you might enjoy it for what it is :)

This were 3 different storys of mermaids and an ancient legend and a timeless love .. I really liked how it sounded and I really think I got that. The storys went on from 450 A.D. - 2004, and I must say I did not enjoy the last one as much as the rest, but maybe it was because I was missing the medieval and mystical parts. All in all the stories were well written, however I must say that they were confusing sometimes because the "voices" of the characters sometimes seemd to change within a
3 Stars... Goodness where to start?!...It really bothers me when I'm so torn on how to rate a book...Most of the time it's a clear cut rating but every once in a while one throws me for a loop. This one did. "The Last Mermaid" is a love story of souls that span the distance of time; from A.D. 531-2004. Both man and mermaid have to remember (without knowing to remember) and "get it right". This is a tricky one to read ladies...there will be NO skimming in this one... If you do, go ahead and
3.5-4 stars! It's been a while since I read an amazing mermaid novel, and Abe interwove three passionate and heartbreaking stories, all revolving around one siren. I only knocked it down a few stars because the ending seemed very abrupt and I felt as if I had to decipher what was going on between both characters. Full review to come! This one is actually three interconnected stories in one book. It was entertaining and interesting and unique. A sweet romance in each book. I just personally didn't find it as fun as the Drakon books.
