Heartbound
Petyr has never found it necessary to consider the humans as anything more than distant, inferior beings–until now. They are the cause of the fatal disease that has plagued his realm, taking the lives of too many of his kind. As a future leader of a realm in peril, Petyr must find a way to resist and cure the affliction. He must enter the unfamiliar realm, appear to be an ordinary eighteen year-old human, observe and learn.
However, things don't exactly go according to plan. Instead of embarking single-mindlendly on his sober mission, Petyr meets and 18 year old girl who does things to his emotions that he can't quite fathom or control.
Petyr is falling in love, and he almost forgets the gravity his choices have on his entire world. Despite the risk it poses to his life and hers, he wants to know her, and he wants her to know him–and his world.
You can find this review on my blog: https://makingdaysbetter.wordpress.co...Petyr-frigging-Crest was amazing, cute and really sweet <3 . Although I liked him a lot, I didnt love him because for me he was kinda selfish in the decisions he took :/ . In my opinion, the best thing about him was the way he treat Scarlett, he was always very respectful and romantic :D .Scarlett was so smart, brave, curious and sometimes a little bit crazy :P . I liked her because she always tried to protect all
This is an interesting take on 'aliens' living amongst us. There are three basic castes within the Empyrian system - the Arcas, the Aguas and the Astras. Simply speaking, the Arcas are connected to nature, the Aguas control water, and the Astras are 'mental' (pun intended). There are also the Sparks but they are looked down upon by all of the above. The descriptions of these individuals, with the world they come from and inhabit, together with their responsibilities is in depth and detailed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I didn't really expect to. It was just supposed to be a quick read, but what a gem. The idea is unique and the character's voice is intriguing. The twist towards the end it brilliant. Overall, a great book. I would definitely get the next one.
This is a very unique story. We're introduced to a race of aliens who are divided into subgroups based on their abilities. Some of the words they toss out in conversation aren't explained until later in the story, which got to be a little confusing.I have to admit that I was much more enamored with the fantasy aspects of this story than I was with the "romance" between Petyr and Scarlett. It seemed more like an obsession on Petyr's part, and that didn't appeal to me at all.Once the focus shifted
What an INCREDIBLE story. I was in the mood for a romantic fantasy, and the beautiful cover drew me in. I expected a typical YA fantasy, but this book really surprised me at how compelling it is. I am in awe of the unique, fast paced story. The characters are realistic and likeable, but not stereotypical. Also, this novel so deliciously dark. The world building is also amazing and even captivating. I could picture Empyrian so vividly and I feel like I was actually there. From the writing to the
Petyr and several others of his race journey to the human world to see if they can understand what it is about humans that draws Petyr's race to commit the Forbidden. While there, Petyr starts falling for a university student named Scarlett, but his attraction toward her might just be his undoing. This book was not what I expected at all. When you think of Peter Pan - and the cover and name immediately makes you do so - you do not think of immortal aliens with superhuman powers. Nor do you expect

I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I LOVED IT! The characters are so interesting, the plot is so unique. It's romantic but really dark in places. I like that there's not a lot of boring stuff and unnecessary explanations of obvious stuff. I agree with the other reviews that it's not a typical YA for dumb people. So if you like the dumbed down and mind-numbing stuff you probably won't get this book. It's the first novel I've read from this author, but I really like the style of writing.
