I've been going back to read old picture books from my childhood lately, and The Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs is one such excellent example of Canadian talent and a fun little story about using talent and imagination to build something fun and incredible. Following a little girl whose hobby of making stuffed toy pigs in a variety of styles takes off as a business, The Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs copy that I have also includes instructions in the back for readers to make their own customized toy pig to reflect their personality.The illustrations in the book are wonderful, and more than that The Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs teachers both young and old readers alike to be thrifty and enjoy making things. In an age where kids are glued to their cell phones (why a three-year-old would have their own phone is totally beyond me but that's another story), it's nice to go back to a story that promotes being imaginative and creating things for yourself. Jillian eventually becomes too attached to her beloved toy pigs to sell them, so she teaches people how to make their own, starting a whole new fad. It's a fun little story and Phoebe Gilman really knows how to make it memorable.

It tells you how to make pigs by sewing and stuffing.Always always wanted to make my own pigs after reading this one

An enjoyable read.This would make a nice addition to anyone's personal library.
excellent rhyming. Loved reading this book with my kids.
