Update: As of 2013 I took this book off publication. However, you can still get it in Verses of Athine! Why did I take it down? Made my life easier because I went in and edited all the novellas again! Plus in Verses they are laid out in the order you need to read them. Book 5 in the series is in progress.

Crit Containing Books Athine Verses: The Blood Sisters (The Daughter of Ares Chronicles #3)
My personal favorite of the three Athine Verses books. "The Blood Sisters" begins with a very unique take on Zeus, showing a rambunctious youth ruled by lust and need. However quick decisions clouded by infatuation often lead to disastrous results and not even the eventual leader of the Immortals is safe from that truth. Once again new characters are mixed into the story and clearly Nikeda stands out. Forever rewriting the origin of vampires, The Blood Sisters also gives Athine a new obsticle to

Athine Verses: The Blood Sisters The Third Book in the Daughter of Ares Chronicles by Shannon McRobertsSince I studied Greek Mythology at school Ive always loved the stories related to the Gods, immortals, semi-Gods, particularly because these characters are very human. They might have powers that no human possesses, but their emotions and behaviours are utterly human, and they are lustful, and mean, and cruel, envious, jealous, and passionate, all in a grand scale. I realised when I had been

This was a great read. I really enjoyed it. This author is new to me and I do plan to read more. I love her cover art which she did herself. The version I read was the entire trilogy together. It was the perfect length and really flowed well. I had a bit of trouble at the start but it really picked up in Chapter one. She writes characters well. They really stand out and have personality and life of their own. I would recommend this to any fantasy lover. Look forward to reading more from this

People today seem to have lost interest in the stories of the immortal gods of Greek mythology. Since the Renaissance until fairly recently, educated folk were taught Latin and Greek and read the great narrative poems. They talked about Zeus commanding the world from his throne on Mt. Olympus, and wrote poetry and stories of their own, referencing the ancient tales. Now, with considerable skill, the author, Shannon McRoberts, has reopened the myths with her own fictional version. Her story

Shannon McRoberts writes epic fantasy and urban fantasy books while living in the rolling hills of Kentucky. Shannon is a lover of all kinds of fantasy but enjoys watching her collection of favorite shows like Xena, Buffy, Firefly, Game of Thrones, and Farscape. When she's not busy with taking care of her family, binge watching Netflix, or making fantasy art, she is at her computer weaving mythsMy personal favorite of the three Athine Verses books. Athine Versus: The Blood Sisters artfully weaves fantasy, magic and mythology. And for all the vampire lovers out there, it provides a new take on their origin. The characters are strong women who are wronged and create plans for revenge that span a generation. Wm. Congreve said "Heaven hath no rage like love to hatred turned and hell no fury as a woman in love scorned." Ms. McRoberts has taken that concept to a new level. If you love mythology and fantasy, you'll love this book.
