Vampire Hunter D (Vampire Hunter D #1)
This novel is an exercise in extra-ness, even for someone who considers herself to be a pulp horror/fantasy veteran. Sure, vampire hunters are cool, but how about laser cannons, symbiotic haunted limbs, and some swoony teen romance thrown in for good measure? The first entry into the VHD saga moves at a startling pace, lobbing so many details at the reader that one is faced with the decision to be frustrated or charmed by its audacity. I found myself coming down on the side of "charmed."Covered
I expected much from this book. I've being buying these books since the first time they were published and not reading... Sometimes I am afraid to ruin a book by reading. I idealize something on my mind and I am afraid by reading it I will destroy it. But the time was up and I promised my girlfriend that it would be the first book of the year... It was. I start reading on new year's eve and finish while staying, again, at the hospital. It was a good read and I enjoyed throughouly. It was very

I liked the cartoon movie, so I gave it over 50 pages & just couldn't stomach it any more. A lot of the problem was the horrible dialogue. This may have been due to poor translation, but I don't think that was all of it. Very stilted & unbelievable. The setting was too far out, too. Humans fighting vampires 10,000 years into the future, a medieval world in many ways backed by super science. Unfortunately, the author tried to draw a direct line from our time to that one & I found his
One of my favorite anime concepts; gothic fantasy horror meets post apocalypse distant future science fiction. Enjoyed the book but loved the two English-forged movies made from the concepts.
This book can be described in a few words which are most likely, amazing, scary, true and fantastic well these are all the emotions I felt when I first red 6 chapters of this book. I have been getting into vampires more often now than I did when I first red this book. I love how Abraham Lincoln was a vampire. Very extraordinary!
I actually couldn't finish this book. The writing is just horrible. I really want to like it, the plot and setting are very interesting, and I loved the anime (both of them). The text reads very awkwardly, with over explained obvious details, or something explained one way only to read: "Actually, it was like this...". It reads like a series of breathless explanations of cheesy actions scenes written by a 12 year old that is too in love with his own hero.

12,090 A.D. It is a dark time for the world. Humanity is just crawling out from under three hundred years of domination by the race of vampires known as the Nobility. The war against the vampires has taken its toll; cities lie in ruin, the countryside is fragmented into small villages and fiefdoms that still struggle against nightly raids by the fallen vampires - and the remnants of their genetically manufactured demons and werewolves. Every village wants a Hunter - one of the warriors who have pledged their laser guns and their swords to the eradication of the Nobility. But some Hunters are better than others, and some bring their own kind of danger with them. From creator Hideyuki Kikuchi, one of Japan's leading horror authors with illustrations by renowned Japanese artist, Yoshitaka Amano, best known for his illustrations in Neil Gaiman's Sandman: The Dream Hunters and the Final Fantasy games.Details Out Of Books Vampire Hunter D (Vampire Hunter D #1)
