The dialogue and narrative voice are what really impacted me from the beginning with The Chronicle of Neffie and find a way right to my heart. Theres no doubting the vision Gibson had with the book and the profound effect it had on me and will no doubt have on so many other readers as well. The reality of the story, especially considering it is loosely based on real life, hits with a punch and left me gasping at some of the vivid scenes, but the humanity at play as well made it a realA Brave SlaveI thought the story was too short.I want to know more about this lovable character.Please let us know what happens to her😇❤
Good BeginningThis started out interesting and was developing into what I thought would be a decent story. Neffie told of life as a slave and of her hopes for the future. Then the entire story shifted to her having to avoid her master as she was a "budding" girl. The dialogue became very repetitive and nothing new was happening. This could have ended at about 60%. The end was very lacking as well. All in all this was a major let down. One thing I found very annoying was the fact that Neffie
